Idaho wolf hunt

I am planning to go next month to hunt wolves in the salmon area of Idaho. I'm looking for any advice anyone would be willing to give on the best way to hunt them. Thank you in advance.
P.S.
I apologize in advance for any offense I may cause with this thread

No need for an apology - way I figure it, if you're posting in the hunting forum then you're posting to a group of like-minded people (and anybody else can choose to ignore it). I know there are a few folk in Idaho - I'll let them chime in with tips... I will admit to complete ignorance - was this a lottery ticket system, or is it an open season up there?

They estimate over 1000 in Idaho, the fish and game website says they would like to reduce that to 150 breeding pairs. The price of a non-resident tag has been reduced to $31.75 and you are allowed to buy 2 of them over the counter. I hunt deer and elk 10 miles south of the Idaho border and have heard of wolf sightings in that area. I don't want to see the herds here in Utah destroyed by these non-native wolves

Idaho! Although I live quite a bit north of the Salmon, I know my way around there! The elk population has plummeted, even in the last year the harvest numbers are basically nothing. The Federal govt. estimates around 1000 wolves in Idaho, that's crap. Those are only breeding pairs that they counted, there is more like 2,300 or so.
When you go, bring along an electronic call, or reed calls of a dying animal sound, they are legal in the state ("Electronic calls: Electronic calls may be used to attract wolves for the purpose of harvest") also, bring a sidearm, a lady recently had to shoot one in the face that was running straight at her and wouldn't stop when she was elk hunting!
Wolves are here, but they are elusive, they have been sighted about a 1/3 of a mile from my house, and I live 15 miles north of Coeur D' Alene.
If you have any more questions, PM me.

This just posted on facebook. Killed by a Idaho game warden.

Edit: Apparently this is a hoax/viral photo. Big *** wolf none the less.

Yeah, there was an article last week in our local paper about that photo. Here's a LINK.

You beat me to it flywgn!
That wolf is a subspecies known as Canis lupus occidentalis, and the pictured one was taken in the Mackenzie Valley in Canada.
Although we do have that subspecies in Idaho, and they get just as big...

Interesting link. Thanks.

I generally do not circulate photos, especially those found on facebook. But thought it was a good correlation to the thread topic, especially with the timing of the Idaho sanctioned wolf hunt...
