If you didn't hate me already...

I just parted out the nicest truck yet.

1991 HDJ81 VX Limited, factory turbodiesel, factory lockers, lift, factory winch, air, tilt, cruse, power folding mirrors, sunroof, climate control, heated seats, center console icebox, headlight washers, factory tire carrier, altimeter compass etc etc.

I feel so dirty.

Don't worry (nearly) everything has gone to a good home.

Before we judge, may we know why?

The truck was too rough for the mall crowd. (small dents and pin-striping) and the price was too good not to buy it for the sum of its parts which will now be gracing at least 6 other trucks who needed them. Once the word was out it was like a feeding fresnzy, everybody needed something.

I can't hate a guy with an avatar like that. (Am I judging a book by it's cover?) Color me shallow.

Back in the day, I filled my high school algebra books with sketches of my '71 FJ40 in exactly that position.

Oh the horrors! Shame on you (insert sarcasm here)

Hey you did what you had to do and lot of folks benefited from it.

It is sad to see another one of these vehicles off the road.

No hating here.

I assume you tried to sell it in one piece first and didn't get any offers?

I had been looking for one for some time with those very options Bruce, but now I have my 77. In fact I may have seen that one for sale before you bought it in Edmonchuk. Hope you did fair enough on all the pieces. Too bad another one is off the market!

How come we are just hearing about the "parting out" part now vs.. before everything's been sold!!! Dang it! Almost miss the cool stuff! :D

No, Jan. This one is not the rig I bought in Edmonton. I'm still driving that one. Many of the parts from this one are going into mine though. This poor rig spent it's retirement exploring trails on Vancouver Island before coming to Cowtown.

Ahhh, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one...

Nice shop! (looks like that could have been a nice rig too...)

Yeah, Dave, sorry. Four of my friends and I really just came up with a list of stuff we needed a realized that it was pretty much a truck's worth. I've been watching the insurance auction but when this one came along for a good price we jumped on it. There are still some small parts left to sell but the only thing of any significance is the engine and we have a few interested parties for that.

Sounds like the adventure duo crowd needs to drive to Iginlaville and get a turbo diesel in their 80... Just register it at aunt marthas in nevada to avoid that pesky calif dmv.:sombrero:

Glad to hear you still have the good one. It was pretty sweet! Love to see it in person one day. Those loaded JDM 80s in good shape are hard to find for a good price!

There are more parts left over than I expected. Perhaps I should move this to a classified section?
