Back in June, my 89 xj, that i spent untold amounts of time and money on died. It spent time with mechanics and me replacing numerous parts. Still refuses to start. Fast forward a few months to two weeks ago. My wife totaled her 01 camry. So she gets the hand-me-down 03 corolla and i get my new dd. a 1995 4runner, 4x4, 5speed. 230k miles.

I don't plan on doing too much. 1" maybe 2" lift. Rear locker a must. Internal cargo organization stuff. Got to get my winch and Hella's on it too. It cost me a whoppin $2300 drive out, so i got some funds to play with. It super clean inside and out. No rust. Im excited and look forward to learning this truck inside and out like i did the xj.

It is clean. Some faded paint on hood, no biggie. The read window even slides down. That feature is so cool. I don't have to worry about the hatch falling on my head anymore! :). Cold a/c too. I let it idle with a/c on for 20 minutes while talking to salesman. I didn't overheat.

I need to start researching a TRD axle swap or aftermarket locker.

Since my last post i have removed some junk, changed engine oil, f/r diff, tcase and m/t oil. Haven't done clutch fluid or brakes yet. I also built a box for the back and got rid of those old rims. Found a deal on CL. Also installed my Cobra 19 in ash tray.

Ordered and on the way..
4xInnovations winch bumper
Ball joint lift 2"
OME 901 coils 1.5"
Warn hubs
ADD delete axle tube

After that i will have front and rear lockers on order. Then some 30" or 31" tires. Eventually 4xInnovations rear bumper and slider but thats down the road.

Here is how she sits now. Hopefully my coils will be here soon!

Make sure you change the t-belt ASAP if you don't know when it was done last and adjust the valves. You're probably already aware of the 3vze burnt valves issue.

Nice looking rig!

Got some updates to share.

Mile Marker SEC8000
Hella 500
Warn manual hubs
ISR mod
Bussman fuse panel
Cobra 19
Rear cargo box
Cragar 15" soft 8

I have front and rear spartan lockers sitting on my work bench. I want to take it out a few times before installing so i can have a benchmark of how much they help/hurt.
