In search for a 4x4 truck with true 4 season camper, Canada, BC.

If anyone going to sell their rig before this winter or when the nice weather is over let me know! I'm in Canada ?? near Vancouver, but willing to travel for the right one (within Canada), my total budget is 25-35k CAD for a truck and camper or expedition vehicle. I know, for expedition vehicle it's a bit tight, but I'm open for everything that can handle negative temperatures up to -25C without tanks and us freezing and is 4x4.

From my research, the following campers should handle such conditions:

  • Bigfoot
  • Northern Lite
  • Citation / Corsair
  • Snow River
  • Nash

If you know of any other campers which are truly 4 seasons, not just advertised as they are, please let me know.
And more importantly, if you thinking of selling, already listed your rig, or saw something that might work, contact me. Self-converted vans would work too

Thank you :)

you have 3 threads asking this question, maybe delete 2 of them and Canada is a pretty big country, maybe tell us at least what Province you live in.

Well, the poster mentions Vancouver and as a fellow Canuck, I know that Vancouver is in British Columbia, the western most province in Canada.

As a side note my son asked Siri on the IPad, “Where is Vancouver Canada?” And got a similar response

Province in the subject, but as I mentioned, I can travel within Canada for the right one. Looks like I'm unable to delete the two other threads, so will be checking all of them occasionally

I would say no

Wind does not lower the temperature but does increases the amount of energy needed to maintian a temp. With our trailer as the wind picks up the freezing point will move from outside to inside the walls

Nash and Snow River are travel trailers so I guess you are looking at TT's as well? Escape trailers can be 4-season and were not mentioned. Definitely not available within your budget if you need a tow vehicle as well, but if you already have a 4wd, just about anything can tow a 17B. We have winter camped in ours, but I wouldn't do it below 0F due to condensation and general misery being close to the cold walls when sleeping.

Most TT's are going to be like that even if rated 4 season. Truck campers are a better design for winter camping because the cab-over sleeping area usually has space on either side as a buffer between you and the outside walls.

Northstar campers have an extra insulation option for something less expensive than the top choices Bigfoot and Northern-lite. I don't think there is any way to pick up a used truck camper + truck big enough for any of these campers within your budget though. The used truck market is crazy expensive right now, and RV's are higher than normal as well.
