Installed Sand Ladders

nice! what brand are the sand ladders? I have seen wing nuts with nylon inserts just like a nylock nut, might be the ticket for your ladder hold downs.

Unfortunately, those that I've seen were pot metal. Sure would be nice to find some that aren't.

now think security. some kind of latch and combo lock that passes through each one, so that I, erhhh I mean someone doesn't stop by while you're in the grocery store and steal them.

you know there's some 17 year old in your hood driving a grossly lifted TJ looking for something PHAT to rip off someone and add to his ride.

They are made in the USA by OK offroad.. good guys over there. They're cheaper that way instead of importing the mantec versions for $100 more. The ladders are Aluminum (i dont know specifics other than that) and they're light weight. Next step is locking them, yep.. i dont want them stolen that's for sure.

Thanks man.

Not really... closest would be... Cleghorn Rd. off the Cajon pass or Big Bear. If you like fire roads (like i do), Indian Truck trail and Main Divide up on top of the Cleveland National Forest.

Whereabouts are you?

sorry for the lag in replying...i'm in La Mesa, east county san diego...near the 15/8 interchange.

:)

Sweet! For security you could just bolt a tab to the rack behind the ladders that sticks through one of the holes in the ladders. A simple hole in the tab and a Brinks round lock like the ones on those sweet door lock thingamajobs Scotty has and you're good to go. Pull the lock off when you hit the dirt so you're not terribly annoyed by the sound of it bouncing off the ladders over every bump and you're golden.
