Instead of window tint, xxxpedition's jeep style?

I want some window tint to decrease temperatures as well as sun protection and privacy. But xxxpeditions window shade idea has me thinking of a dual shade system.

Having a daytime and nightime shade that is darker but easily seen through for reversing and driving while still having safety of visibility, and a black out mode for camping. These will be held on by velcro and upon completion, updated in my Project Overlander.

What do you guys think about this as an alternative to tinting? These can be easily taken down, stored, and will be about $150 less than window tinting too.

I've wanted to try Svens tint too, since during the winter here the stuff is available at the local canvas shop as scrap. During summer shade cloth is used widely for greenhouses and to shade dogs at dog shows. the awning and canvas shop makes up lots of size specific jobs and then during slow winter times will sell scraps super cheap I like the fact you can take it off and clean the windows. Sven has had it on 2 rigs now and seems to like it a lot........maybe I'll try it this winter. Its really cheap as scrap.
go jeep uses it tucked into the rubber molding. http://go.jeep-xj.info/

SVEN, just the person I'd love to hear from.

Can you still drive with that on or should I get more of a mesh for nighttime/ daytime use and driving(reversing especially)?

Also, did you do a complete strip of velcro or just squares, I am thinking 4-6 cm x cm squares of velcro per window depending on size, maybe 8 for rearview glass?
