Interest in shackle flip for 05+ Taco???

Gauging interest in a shackle flip for the 05+ Tacoma. Everything is designed and ready to go but it doesn't make sense for me to do it with anything less than a run of 20. I would need at least 15 commitments to start a production run. I will have a prototype built to verify and make any last minute changes. But I'm not going to put out the prototype cost if there's not enough interest. Prototype Done!!

You will retain your factory shackle, just inverted. 1" and 1.5" XJ lift shackles can also be used. It is all 1/4" steel plate that is laser cut and broke. You get two mounting options at the frame and three at the shackle. The hangers can also be flipped side to side for really long spring set-ups. This gives you 12 total mounting options, 36 if you include the three shackle options. There is 7" total adjustability in 1" and 1.25" increments. This means the kit will grow with your truck as it changes. Expect 1/2"-1" of lift depending on set up.

Unfortunately I won't have actual pics until a prototype is done. Post up if you would seriously be interested and ready to order as soon as they are available. Price would be sub $200. I could potentially be ready to ship within 6 weeks.

Based off of stock length springs, so unless you change to a different length spring it shouldn't be an issue. I'm expecting minimal lift with this setup using stock shackles. You can use XJ shackles in different lengths to play with height.

Threw it into 3D real quick to give anyone hesitant awaiting pics an idea. It's all 1/4" A36 Laser cut and upgrades the mounting hardware to 7/16". Hardware will be included as well.

edit: doing a quick redesign based on some feedback.

Yep im interested. I was gonna build a set after my next trip. If you are serious lets talk.

I'm very serious. You are #1 on the list, just need 14 more. I have this posted on TTORA too, so the lists will combine. Once I have 15, I'll get going. I'll start a list in the op.

Pardon my ignorance. What are the advantages of a shackle flip over the stock set up? Are there any disadvantages?

I'll consider taking #2 but have a question: will this shackle flip require new/different/longer springs?

No. Depending on what springs you have will dictate how high you sit, but I'm only expecting less than an inch of lift from this setup. I won't know for sure until I have the proto on the truck. It will use the stock shackle, unless you want more height you can run XJ lift shackles.

With a shackle flip you gain articulation, mainly droop, and get a better (softer) ride. Longer shocks and brake lines will be needed though.

This is a easy and good upgrade to do.

Ride quality is better and like the fabjunkie and bat said before it gains in drop. Which I personally would like. Make that limited slip work a little better under full flex.
The little lift gained would be fine as well.

Ive already bent my stock spring mounts, So I'm in need of doing something to get rid of them or fix them. This is a solid option.

I found center punching the rivets and drilling them out was a better option than grinding. Be prepared to have some choice words, head banging and a time out before you really start swinging the sledge hammer :)
