Interiors on Window Vans

I'm looking for ideas for doing the interior on my van, a converted passenger van with full-length windows, and I'm looking for ideas for sheeting around the windows and sides. Let's see what other people have done!

You went a little more permanent on the interior than I planned to, but I'm really digging a lot of the accessories and the exterior mods onn that thing, looks amazing!

Thanks for the compliment. It was a pretty capable rig for 2WD. I figured if you have enough recovery gear, you can feel okay going into remote places. Once you get yourself stuck, get back out and turn around. Particularly in good weather, it's a workable strategy.

The couple I sold it to have made even better off-road use of it than I did. They are backcountry mountain bikers and the big tanks and self-sufficiency really have paid off for them. They've stayed in it for a month at a time, going into town just to get supplies and more water. Better than I ever did. ;)

Are you talking about inside trim around the factory windows or just window van interiors in general?
Factory windows were available on cargo vans with no interior plastic but passenger vans all had window trim that fit nice and tight, most aftermarket windows had specific interior trim plastic also. Most interior window trim rings that are home made look like it, I would try blend my nice homemade wall with the plastic trim ring in a tidy fashion. The factory plastic is easy to cut with a steady razor blade and clean up the edge with some heat. I bolted some all thread to the reinforced wall channels and just drilled a simple hole in the plastic trim then added a bracket on the interior side to tie down my work. That way if I remove the camping stuff the factory trim plastic just has some simple holes in it.

My favorite part of the factory window van is the panaramic veiw of the wilderness I worked so hard to find, right from the comfort of my Pillow!!! Yea, no getting up to look out just open your eyes to the day, or furry marauders at night....... Priceless.............
