Introducing O'Billy - our new Type-II Ambulance

The shifter is already pretty tight to the seat area, and with the way the linkage is set up I don't know that you'd want to try shifting it around too awful much. If it's a must do for you you might want to consider some sort of cable linkage, but honestly, keeping those adjusted properly has always seemed to be a bit problematic. Or so I've read over the years.

Gotcha, thanks for the info – I kind of felt like that would end up being the conclusion. We'll keep the shifter where it belongs and just see what we can fit around it!

I'm jealous of that dynamat install. Used to do that professionally...you did a VERY nice job. I'm excited to get that knocked out on our 7.3 as well.

Would have to be a VERY tiny fridge, almost like a Coleman picnic-size.

Thanks for all the kind words everybody!

Eeh, ya that's not going to cut it for long trips... it sounds like we may have to go with our backup option: replace the entire patient-head seat/drawer with a fridge on some sort of sliding platform. Ideally we could just replace the drawer, and keep the seat, but that will also probably constrain us to too small a fridge... wish I could find my measurements...

I know slides like these are pretty popular... does anyone have a good recommendation?

I really like those back windows too. Very sweet...might have to find a set.

Also every time I read O'Billy, it makes me think of The Cable Guy. Hope I didn't ruin it for ya.

Shoot man, this is an easy one. You've got all kinds of space in the back. Pick a spot, put it on some slides and hit the road. When you get hungry/thirsty you just say "Woman! Get yo ******** back there n make me a sammich and get me a drink".

Problem solved. ;)

Do you happen to have the numbers size-wise of each of the dynamat products you used for the cab insulation project? Thanks

Here are the total materials used for sound proofing:

1x Dynamat 10455 18" x 32" x 0.067" Thick Self-Adhesive Sound Deadener with Xtreme Bulk Pack, (Set of 9)
2x Dynamat 10435 12" x 36" x 0.067" Thick Self-Adhesive Sound Deadener with Xtreme Door Kit
2x Dynamat 21100 DynaPad 32" x 54" x 0.452" Thick Non-Adhesive Sound Deadener
2x Dynamat 11905 Hoodliner 32" x 54" x 3/4" Thick Self-Adhesive Sound Deadener

1x Dynamat 13100 1-1/2" Wide and 30' Long DynaTape Sound Deadener
1x generic aluminum tape (same thing as DynaTape but much cheaper)

Dynamat was applied to the entire cab floor and as high up the firewall as possible, both front doors, and both rear barn doors (we swapped out new audio wire and added 4x Infinity Kappa 682.11cf speakers too).

We still have a bit left over, but will probably need another small order to fully cover both side barn doors as well as the one rear wheel well that we can access.

The dynapad fit the entire cab floor with a few decent sized scraps from cutting out the doghouse.

One hoodliner perfectly fits the hood; the other fills the doghouse with just a bit of scrap left over.

There's no point in paying for DynaTape because it's just aluminum tape with a logo at 2x the price.

Most excellent, amigo. Thanks for tracking down the links and everything.

For the next guy, it's $590 less the tape and speakers.
