The Otterbox for my Iphone 3G is great. I work as a fire investigator, and to say that I don't work in the bes environment for a cell phone is an understatement.

The case is almost bombproof and does a great job keeping mositure away from the phone. Otterbox hit another homerun with this product.

I have used the otterbox for my blackberry 8330 for the last year. I work in EMS so i am out in all sorts of nasty weather and what not and It has held up Fantastic so far.

I have had my Otter Box Defender for only 2 days and I love it. I decided I needed it 2 weeks ago when I dropped my naked iPhone in the snow and it only worked using the speakerphone bit it fixed it's self like a Toyota and was working fine a few hours later. I dropped it again durring a recovery and needed someone to call my phone to locate it.

likes:
I like that it makes the iPhone slightly larger and makes it easer to use with my sausage links. It also sticks to the dashboard.

It gives it a rugged protection like that of a Toughbook case.

It is black & yellow. Not that I'm a Steelers fan, but it matches my truck and is more visible.

Dislikes:
my docking stations on my stereo and alarmclock don't fit. I fixed this with ordering a docking extender. It was $28.00, but now makes it dockable (or at least when I get it).

I preffer a stick on screen shield as opposed to a built in one. I'm currently using both.

Car charger is a snug fit.

I hope this helps others.

I removed the Otterbox screen protector from the case and did not replace it with a stick on type. It is nice to have easy functionality again. And let's face it, if I drop the phone hard enough to break the glass, a film layer probably won't help much.

I had the otterbox for my BlackBerry and hated it. mostly because it was to bulky. Now that I use a G1 I have another ruberized hardshell that sits in my dresser drawer because it is also to bulky.

+1 :iagree:for the Defender Otter Box - I've had it for over a year now and dropped the 3G numerous times. It has never failed me. I broke the belt clip on the holder getting into my truck last week, catching it on the door frame. I emailed OtterBox, they sent me a new belt clip /holder no charge and no questions asked. Great product and customer supoort. :safari-rig:

+1 for the Otterbox. Cincher for me when buying was our phone rep said a siding contractor client of hers fell two stories off scaffolding while working, landed on his hip where the Otterbox-protected Blackberry was, and the phone was fine (he apparently had an Otterbox-shaped bruise). Had it on my Blackberry Storm for almost 8 months now. I'm on construction sites during the day and have yet to damage the phone - the case does everything it promises.

I have the otterbox on the my 3GS and it certainly does its job as advertised.
My only beefs with it are:

The screen protector started doing the "oiling" thing on the screen almost immediately.....I just removed the film from the case.

My fat fingers are unable to turn the ringer back on from the silent setting which is pretty annoying......I end up using a pen or a fork or something.

The raised ridge around the screen that protects the screen can make it difficult to manipulate things and hit letters when typing near the very edges of the screen......I just live with it.

The bulkiness of the case makes it difficult to use it with other accessories. I have an aftermarket 12V charger that I had to shave down on a sander to get it to fit, I have yet to find an armband for running that will work with the phone in the case, many iphone specific cradles simply will not work with the otterbox installed.

Personally i think otterbox is missing the boat by not making more accessories that work WITH their case.

But honestly, I've dropped my phone a half dozen times and it doesn't have a scratch on it so its doing its job.

My iphone rolls bare-backed with no protection.

Happy (and amazed) to report that the screen has no scratches. I'm careful to not drop it though, it would be the end.
