It's 2026 - what's the best navigator app?

I've used Gaia, OnX, Scenic and a few others. Right now all my subscriptions are expired and I'm planning a new trip (Virginia Adventure Trail). What's currently the best app for running on a ipad/iphone for not only planning but executing the route?

I'm not going to say OnX Offroad but everybody else is about too. Watch.

I still like Gaia. I use a combination of Gaia, Pocket Earth (iOS only) and Google when roving about the terra firma.

Well it looks like OnX is still good to go. They do a 50% off for military too, so $17 for the year. Score!

I use mostly Gaia, but also have OnX. Depending on where I am exploring, one may have better info than the other.

People hate on it but OnX really is the best 9 times out of 10. Especially if you're in an area that is popular and has designated trails and trail names. I assume you know all of this but it takes so much less time to build a route in OnX than any other platform I have used. Plus you get access to OnX hunt also which has a ton of information.
