Hey Storz,

Where do you go in/come out? The area is HUGE and my Delorme shows a lot of "roads" but if you know the routes please let me know-or even better lets get a trip together and you can lead us!

I'll bet the bear spotting is thick this time of year.

WJ, TR huh-great place. I used to stop by Sundrift on my way up to Jones Gap all the time. You know Tish Lell, I used to work with her.

I'd love to get a trip together for sometime after the holidays. Funny story about where we went in and came out lol. We entered off of Buffalo City Road/US64

All of the entrances to the park have road maps available which is nice, it would be really easy to get lost back there. At some point during out little jaunt we had gone from the Refuge into the Dare County Bombing range :Wow1:

There were absolutely no signs or gates marking the distinction between the two. When we came out we came past a "Do Not Enter" sign from the "Do Not Enter" side of it lol. We were joking about whether or not "they" knew we were back there.

The next trip out I'd like to check out some of the same areas back there, as well as areas on the north side of US64, there are some cool looking roads that streach on a long ways all the way up to the Albemarle Sound.

We really didn't have a plan when we went back there, we actually flipped a coin at some intersections to decide which way to go :)

More pics from that trip;

The road behind the truck is actually a named road out there (can't remember the name of it, but there were a LOT of roads that were in about the same condition)
