Finally give the ideas to get going on my next trailer built. I just did not had the inspiration to start on the next trailer that would meet the smaller all around need.

Thanks! Glad it could be inspiring. I think the mini trailer is going to be perfect. Can't take too much crap, but fits the essentials when the truck is full

Not much in the way of progress. Need some sheet metal to go any further really, and its not in the budget

But my daughter and I were working on some little things the other night, and she was jumping in the trailer. And the tailgate fell off. Luckily she was just inside it, so she was fine, but both latches broke. Oops.

So in come anti-tail-gate fall-off tab.

Two screws and the tail gate can still come off, but now wont fall off

Where'd you get the barrel hinges? I've looked at McMaster-Carr and there are quite a few choices. I was a bit overwhelmed.

I actually got them at my local steel yard. Everett Steel. They have a bunch of different sizes. They are the basic ones, just a brass washer, no grease zerk or anything. That size was $3

We have lid!!!! The steel yard just happened to have a piece of .080 aluminum that was the right size in the remnants pile.

Thanks! Lid is probably ~40 lbs. I didnt actually weigh it, but id guess the steel was 25 and the aluminum was 15. The strut is a 80# force 20" from seadog.
