Jeep Wrangler Habitat Official Release

Some sort of lost...
I think the look of the texture was the least of the problems. The whole thing got textured. All sealing surfaces were textured (where the top seals to bottom half, where the tent is supposed to seal to the top, where the doors seal, and on the surface you would stand/sit/lay on inside), so his didnt seem to seal up well and it was uncomfortable or painful on your knees to try to kneel inside. Probably just a miscommunication when it was sprayed.
I don't think it looked that bad personally, though I prefer smooth as well.

Exactly!!! Now that's functional if it stays in place at steeper angles. Thanks for sharing.

Stretching out Habitat 12 on the Apache Trail. Using 2 Nemo Cosmo insulated mattresses inside the Tuo pillowtop with a tie down solution that keeps everything in place when closed. Crazy comfortable and quick setup. Just needs the zip on awning we've been waiting for!

I'm going to have the same sleeping system in my Habitat. Do you have any detail on how you got the tie-down system to work? I was thinking Velcro, but haven't really given it as much thought as it deserves.

Well you will love the Nemo stuff! Thought about velcro (see what the guys who have velcro on the stock foam mattress have to say), a stick on tab solution, glue on tabs, then finally cut to the chase after talking with UMV on the floor structure and went with a 1/8" riveted SS small pad eye solution coupled with paracord (no shock cord) and self locking, quick release cleat. Self-explanatory pics to follow. Mattress won't move when top is vertical while opening/closing. Solution should work for foam or air type mattress. The Nemo is an excellent fit up there although a little too short to completely fill the space. The setup is pretty sweet.

I think I get the idea. If you get around to pics that would be awesome. Thanks for the info! Can't wait to get it all up and running!

kb7uor, you refer to your Habitat as #12. Is there serial numbers or build plates on them? Ours is to be ready by the end of May and I am just wondering how they show what number it is. As well, please free to post photos any time you want to keep those of us waiting satiated. That goes for any of the other owners as well.

On mine, the serial # is embossed into the structure which you can see inside on top of the rear deck area near the hatch opening.

I should have some pics of the mattress tie downs for those of you who may want to keep it stored in the Habitat instead of removing and packing with each setup.

I just got the AT rear storage rack and might get a chance to install that this evening or over the weekend. Initial impression is :)

Also, I am curious if anyone else besides me is wanting the zip on awning soon, or am I one of very few right now who really need the awning for summer?
