curious about the no rack on it
I have seen the gobi rack that allows tilting it out of the way ? I was thinking the other night I wonder if you lengthened a gobi a touch and if it could tilt out of the way to allow this to work ?
if so could be a cool combo depending on what this thin weighs of courseand how much left you could use the gobi for ?
or could the roof be tweaked to include rails of some kind ? cause being able to put kayaks or bikes on top would be a really cool option
Could hinge it so it flips to one side or the other, then toss a piece of shade material on top, insto-presto....shade awning.
That pic makes it look like the Habitat would clear the folded back Gobi.
The pain would be you have to take anything heavy off the rack before you can fold the rack back, and you'd have to leave it folded back like that the entire time the Habitat is "open".
Hmm.

What # has been delivered presuming that is something that can be shared publicly?
I think #4 just before OX12. The next two should be within a month after correcting some minor problem that I really don't know anything about. One problem after another....
Why not just get a RTT?
Why not just get a RTT?
Not to knock the Habitat, but it isn't like a Dormobile, or a Flip-Pac, or an offering from Maltec where you can standup in it and cook, or whatever, with the Habitat have to crawl though a hole, to get the sleeping area.
I dunno, I was kinda disappointed that the whole interior isn't open, an just has a crawl hole, heck just might as well get a RTT...
The habitat is much more appealing than a RTT to me.
If you add up the price and weight of a quality tent, quality rack and hard top you probably wont be far off, however the price definitely is tough to swallow.
What you gain is a light, low profile option that offers a good amount of space, quick setup and access from the cab. Plus you can leave the whole setup on all the time without drawing too much attention. I know I don't want to have a big bulky rack with a 12" tall tent riding around all the time!
It would be nice to have everything behind the sound bar open to below for sure. It would give you some options for standing and cooking inside if a person was willing to remove part of the roll bar. On the other hand, as is you can sleep four up top, or sleep two and have lots of "floor" space for gear.
I couldn't care less about exclusivity though. To each his own I guess.
I'd love to have one of these but I wouldn't be interested in putting a deposit down until they iron out the details and get on some sort of real schedule with them.
