Jeepster Camper

Not a Jeepster, just a Jeep...

I've seen references to those before, but never seen one first-hand, or even one for sale. Nice find.

My first thought was that this would be a really cool rig to have. Drive it up to Ouray, then drop the camper and 'wheel the jeep.

Then reality struck. A more traditional truck camper towing a jeep would be a lot more comfortable on the road, and in base camp.

But it would be a really cool restro project for someone wanting something 'completely different.'

BTW, it seems to me that the lazy axle on the camper portion would have to have some kind of passive steering, right? There's quite a distance between the jeep's rear axle and the camper's lazy axle. About the only other product I've seen close to that design is the QuickHitch guys, and they keep the axles close together.

Awesome Jeeps. With the JK Unlimited, there would be a great platform to create something like this again. (Any photochop wizard out there that could paste a FWC camper on the back of a 4 door Wrangler?)

Quick 'n dirty job... a "Finch" model FWC for four-doors, facing the wrong way. Even with the proportions being a tad approximate - I think we will have a slight overhang problem in this application.

I LOVE IT. But I think you are right, we would need a "short-finch" :victory:
