well I'm still "patiently" awaiting for my correct load bars to arrive. Today I did order two round LED tail/brake lights/turn and four amber side marker lights. I hope to actually mount all of the lights in the cover of the trailer so the wiring will be out of the way when the trailer is opened. Hopefully I will have it by the weekend so I can start with the trailer wiring. At this point I also plan to wire a dome light inside and a couple of 12v charging outlets but that's not a priority at this point. I still haven't decided how/where I am going to control the accessory lights battery/switches. I'm also debating whether or not to install a fresh water tank/pump so that will also have to be decided upon before I actually do any wiring on the trailer(other than the tail lights).

well the UPS man came today but naturally I didn't get everything I ordered  . I had ordered three cross bars and only received two. I was able to get the tent mounted and just not have the third bar in the middle installed. I'll call tomorrow to get it coming. I've bought from this place a few times and always had a great experience but this transaction has been a nightmare.

The tent is mounted on the load bars and all the bolts are just hand tight. I plan on finishing up the hardware tomorrow and setting the tent up out in the driveway.

Also my latches came and they won't work the way I hoped but think I have an idea. Once the RTT install is done and the latches are complete I will then turn my attention to the wiring of the trailer lights. The other task that is in my mind is whether to stay with the lunette and lengthen it or whether to install a receiver hitch on the tongue for a telescopic tongue.

It's looking good jevy! That sucks about not getting the whole shipment but glad it didn't hold you back from getting the tent up there.

I wanted ask you since your farther along than I am, I'm trying to find a replacement bolt like this pictured. It's the bolt that mounts the leaf to the c hangar- do you know what it's called and where I can find one?

I don't know what it is called but I think it's also used on the older cj3a jeeps as well. I believe I've seen that part listed on both jcwhitney and 4wd hardware. If you put a post up about it I bet someone will chime in for what it is called.

A number of folks sell the part and I know that several sell the one made by Crown. It is called a leaf spring pivot eye bolt with grease fitting. Look for one that fits a CJ2 or CJ3. Almost all of the axle and spring hardware is from these vehicles.

Hope that helps.

I fell this morning getting the tent set up and ruptured a disc in my back. I am getting ready to have emergency surgery. Trailer can wait a second. I normally don't ask for this but if anyone is of the praying kind I sure could use a few. The said if I didn't have surgery tonight there is a chance I could never walk again. I have no feeling below my waist. Thanks in advance......it's in the Lord's hands now.

Jevy-

I hope that your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly. Take care and get some rest. I wish you health and a quick recovery!

thank you everyone. The surgery went well but i cannot lift anything heavier than a phone book for 8 weeks. If it's ok I may still post what materials I am getting together in anticipation of when I can work. Again I don't normally ask for prayers but I really appreciate it!!!!!

Great news. Lots of time to have the trailer completed by next spring. Just take time and recover.

Glad to hear all went well.

Take it easy and just order supplies off the internet.

Keep us posted on your healing.

well I took a couple pics yesterday just a few minutes before my back blew out. I thought I would post them up because I'm very proud of how it is turning out. I ordered the longest load bars I could without paying extra for the length. I think they are 78" but I could be wrong. I may end up trimming them but I wanted to try to be able to mount a kayak on each side of the tent. Also my outriggers on the passenger side of the trailer will have to be taken off and made into a receiver hitch where they can move out away from the trailer more. I currently weigh 270lbs(that's going to change immediately now though) and I could feel the drivers side of the trailer lift off the ground when getting in the trailer. It probably didn't go up far but I really don't want to have to worry about the trailer flipping when I get in/out. Also my tent is a Mt Shasta I believe. I ordered a Mt Rainier but they were out of them so we upgraded to the Mt. Shasta which has the vestibule area but I honestly doubt I'll ever use it unless we setup in an area for multiple days.
