Progress and set backs... The progress was that the engine mounts are done... see pic 1/8" tubing and 1/4" plate mount faces

Set backs include the fact that I have to return almost all the summit racing stuff I ordered because of clearance issues with the custom radiator/shroud/electric fan. So all of that is going back on monday and the only thing I can use is the transmission cooler and free hat. So now I have to figure something else out as there is only enough room for a 1 core... new oem maybe; we will see.

a little update..

Researched and called Wic, Fleetguard, but settled for Baldwin for my oil and fuel filtering needs and received my oil filter from them and waiting on the fuel filter. I have also received my 2 oem steel rims for my spares. I have had both front and rear driveshafts rebuilt.

wiring harness really kicked my butt with removal, identification, and modifications... Still trying to figure out my tach signal and modifications for that... Had to order another FSM

started with this and now there is about 1/3 of it left and being wrapped up.

little better look after reinstall and starting to wire it up to the new harness (and make plans to modify in-truck harness adjustments), hook up power steering, hook up a/c system (have one more custom hose in the mail). still lots to do.... didn't make my deadline :(

Looks like a mess right now, but I am still waiting on the new FSM for the engine so I can complete the wiring.. I have just ordered parts to modify the throttle cable just now too. The entire cooling system is still an issue and that will be what I will tackle until parts I am waiting on get here. I tell you what... this is harder than it looks!

What rad do the diesel Xterras usually use? Could you source one of those out? There are lots of JDM parts available up here maybe you could look into getting one from up north?

I couldn't tell you, I know very little about the diesel xterras. All of my cross referencing and compatibility comparisons are from the Terrano from which information and parts are easier to get. Even just trying to get a radiator from a Terrano is extremely costly, so I must source parts locally when It comes to the radiator bits. I have not sourced a single part from up north believe it or not, so far parts have been sourced from Japan direct, and manuals from the UK.

My Remote filter mounts came in yesterday. So Today I built my filter bracket today for my remote fuel and oil filters. still needs to be dressed up... don't mind the huge mess and clutter :)

Also on a side note, the new a/c hose I needed came in and it was the wrong one.... Ordered another one from a different supplier and we shall see what happens this time. I emptied the fuel tank and have also removed the fuel pump and fuel level unit and broke part of it... so I spent part of the day repairing it.

coolant pipe... going to get one mandrel bent out of stainless when I get tired of looking at this... welding aluminum after over a year on a new machine is a royal PITA....

Droool....Any updates for the pic hungry? We have to live vicariously through you.... NC would never pass a diesel X once its been registered as a gasser :-(

I take in a state like California, Massachusetts, or Oregon one would not be able to pass smog, or make a diesel Xterra street legal?

Move to Texas, then visit your home states lol j/k. Honestly if you wanted and did do such a conversion you have to study the laws and see what you can get away with. For me in Texas, it is stated that any vehicle that is diesels, or motorcycle is exempt from emissions, and emissions applies to select counties. My xterra is registered in an non emission county, and even if emissions applied to myself it is solely dependent on the inspector and how far they want to take it.

I just finished rebuilding the a/c compressor and in the process of servicing the a/c, so I should be test driving later today.
