Note. Is it possible to put the specs and pictures on the AT website for easy of finding? That way we dont have to sort through 20 pages to get details? just a question, not trying to be sarcastic...

We will do it once we have the production units available. The sneak peak is here on ExPo. No sarcasm taken :)

THANKS guys...
And if no one else says it...Thanks for having a company that ACTUALLY LISTENS TO IT'S CUSTOMERS and builds what we want and builds it better than we could have ever dreamed!

Have any interior shots? I have been thinking for the past few months how to cobble this setup myself. I was very excited to find this thread a few weeks ago.
Bravo!

relevant paragraph:

"We expect the overall height of the top to only increase by 6” over the factory height. Weight will be less than 100 lbs more than the factory hardtop. The top will attach using all of the factory hardware and can be easily put on in about 15-20 minutes. The shell can be customized by adding awnings to the sides. No provision for roof racks will be made, it would simply complicate opening and add to the COG, something we all prefer to avoid.

The targeted price point for the top will be $4400."

Fabulous! Sounds like the Jeep so equipped will still fit in the family garage,
parking garages, ferry boats, shipping containers and other low clearance situations.

If you do not mind my asking...

How many have you sold? IE How many on the first run are up for grabs still?

This month should be the month when I find out if I can get a JK, and right now they are selling them for only 19,500! That comes (of course) with the SOFT top, ergo, I would have to pay for a hard top one way or another, may as well get one like this! haha

Not to mention it certainly would make your rig easy to find in the parking lot! (yep that is the only real reason for me to get this thing... geesh)

Also, I have looked back, but I have never seen any reasoning behind the lack of the rear window on the Driver's side. I am sure you have your reasons, but would you mind sharing?

IF one wished to, would it be possible to add a window myself down the road?

Thanks a lot.

We have a couple left unspoken for.

I get this Deja Vu feeling all over again. When we sell product we get three waves of buyers:

The first wave, the first adopters, recognize a great product right away and jump on it.

The second wave, the thinkers, take a while, ask lots of technical questions, balance their check book, and finally buy (I think I'm in that group).

The third wave, the procrastinators, go back and forth, ask lots of questions, are a little uncertain then make up their minds to buy, but by this time we are sold out.

I think if you want a JK Topper from the first batch you'll need to be in the first wave, or the top of the second wave.

The window on the passenger side is obviously for the drivers field of view. The second window behind the driver doesn't provide much vision, and most expedition vehicles have the whole of the cargo area full of gear in this area.

The solid wall area on the drivers side can be used for a multitude of expedition equipment both on the inside of the vehicle and on the outside. This may compose of internal storage up to the roof level, built in closets, water storage, shower units, cassette toilet, kitchen, etc.

The solid wall also provides a little more privacy and security.

As far as retro fitting a window, yes it could be done as an aftermarket product.

Thanks a lot. I think I am in the first group. I knew the product was great the first time I saw AEV mock theirs up. Yours is much nicer in that I can sleep the entire family up there. (Or so it apears.) It looks like there should be room enough up there for four adults, (if you were so willing to sleep) is that correct?

My concern has always been monitary. If I had the cash I would have told you yes from the off.

Mind if I Also ask... When do you think they will be available? If I get one I may need it shipped to AK, would that be possible? Any ideas on what it would cost me?

Thanks a lot

Not sure how in the hell I missed this thread! Great product Martyn. In my albeit brief perusal of the thread, I didn't see pricing mentioned for the JK model? Also, you have a couple left?

I love this product and think you will sell a number of them if you actually put it into further production. Only question I had was about the rear window on the passenger side. I agree that it is a really nice touch. The question was about the pictures you have shown and whether that is a close to production mock up. Is the window design finalized? No criticism intended, but are there any plans to make it more symmetrical and matching in shape and lines to the other windows on the jeep. It just seems a bit off, hence the question.

The rear window is in the identical position on the JK Topper as it is on the JK. Any difference would be due to the perspective of the rendering.

Price point is going to be around $4400.00 details are here http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=521995&postcount=150

We are looking at a March delivery.

Shipping to Alaska is always expensive, we would skid mount the top so there would be additional costs in supporting the JK Topper and protecting it during shipping. It would financially make more sense to pick it up before you went.
