AEV 2.5 Arrived

When I got home the AEV 2.5 kit had been delivered. By Saturay afternoon this is what the JKUR looked like

I did add an expedition accessory - a tailgate table. It has been setting in my office for the last several weeks waiting for the bed lining to be complete.

AEV 2.5 Installed

Well, that was a fun weekend. I remember now why I dislike working on vehicles I guess I've just gotten use to my bike lift and not having to crawl around on the ground

It took most of the weekend to get the AEV 2.5 lift installed along with the geometry correction brackets for the front control arms. So far I'm happy with the kit - at least the axles stayed on during the dest drive :sombrero:

Measured lift right after the install was 2.75" in the front and 3" in the rear. Of course this will settle a bit over time. Now, I'll have to see how it handles the weight of full camping gear. Lucky, I'll be able to check out how she handles when loaded this weekend at the WA Overland Rally

Nice set-up. You may thought of this doing most of the work yourself but...you can get out of your garage without ripping the tent on the garage door opener bracket right? I'd read in the past where guys put a lift and such on in the garage without considering getting out the door.

:yikes: - yeah, I had thought about that. I have a 12' door on the bay behind the Jeep which is where I store the RRT. You can just make out the hoist in the upper right of the pictures. The Before has the RTT hosted to the ceiling and the After has an empty hoist. So, when installing the lift I didn't have the RTT on the Jeep

I have about 1" to spare when I park in the current bay but I think I'm going to do a little modifications to that bracket and get a total of 3" :luxhello:

Just saw this thread. Looks good! I went with the OME heavies in our '11 JKUR, and have zero complaints. I chose the "lighter" of the two "heavy" spring rates, which works great for dd, and for pulling our 3000 lb trailer with 450 lb tounge weight. I think with fridge, drawers, bumper, rtt etc you will want the heaviest spring rate.
