JKU hardtop reinforcement?

i just used big washers like 1.5inch in dis. never worried about it but haven't put really heavy stuff there. maybe 3 long boards and 2 sups at once. By daughter box spring and mattress steel from and head boards another time. no issues at all.

Teraflex is showing their new rack here at SEMA, they're using a cutaway hardtop to demonstrate how it bolts through the hardtop to brackets attached to the roll bars...

I'm liking this setup, not sure I need it now that I have the trailer, but I like having options! Anyone need a Gobi?

Found this video as well:

Must say I do like the Teraflex option but for $1000 including the cross bars ( if I read their site correctly) you are pretty close to the AEV in both price and design.

The big difference with the AEV is you will have a much harder time removing the roof. AEV has even admitted it wasn't really designed for having the top come off repeatedly.

This is where both the Rhino Rack and the Teraflex have a distinct advantage IMHO.

Nice thing about Teraflex is dealers can set their own discount, so street price may turn out to be reasonable. Like a "Black Friday", or other big sale day.
Definitely is a nice looking low profile option to hold some weight up top.
