Juddrussell's 94 single cab

Hey!

I have been a longer time reader here but not much of a poster. I have read through tons of builds and figured I should start mine!
The pickup is a 94 single cab, 3.0 with 116,000 miles. Would love to get it more comfortable for longer trips with a wildernest or flippac possibly.

This was the day i picked up the truck!

The previous owner loaded up the bed with boxes of truck parts, 4x innovation sliders, trail gear tube doors (no a/c :( )

Super excited to do more to the truck! I love ideas and inspiration so let me know what you think!! Thanks!

Shortly after buying the truck, I ripped out the nasty carpet to install the vinyl floor kit the previous owner gave me for the truck.

The bench seat is actually pretty clean but I would really like to get some buckets so I could add a
tuffy console for a better use of the space and have a little more security for personal items on trips.

I also went ahead and had a local shop LINE-X the bed.

Good looking 3rd Gen! I'm curious to see what the interior looks like when you finish. After having a 1st gen with the bench and switching to buckets I think buckets are the way to go for sure. The bench is nice if you ever have to carry a 3rd person, but its awkwardly tight. Have you run the serial numbers on it yet to see if your 3.0L was effected by the head gasket issues?

Thanks irish_11! I will definitely get pictures soon of the vinyl floor kit installed! I like the way it looks and the ease of cleaning with the vinyl.
I laid a few layers of "home depot" sound deadening mat which helped with noise and heat from the tunnel big time. Buckets seem to be
a much better use of the space. I do believe my 3.0L was effected by the H.G. issues because I have a full carfax and the original owner
had the H.G. replaced by the Toyota dealership in Arizona at 68,000 miles.

Thanks DeskToGlory!! I dont know if you remember but I emailed you probably 4-6 months ago and we talked back and forth a bit
about cross country trips and your thoughts on the RTT discussion. I love both of your trucks! Honestly I really wish I had an extended cab
like your two. You lose so much space with having just a reg cab. The cab is fine 90% of the time but it limits me to what I can do so much.
The linex changed the look of the truck without the camper, big time!

Thanks fo' runnin'!

Oh, I remember! Yeah, I had a reg cab truck for 9 years so I definitely understand the limitations. At least you've got plenty of room in the canopy to keep stuff out of the weather.

Colorado Trip!

Early December my wife and I took the toyota on a 2800 mile, 10 day trip out to Colorado and back! We had an awesome time snowboarding and fishing. The pickup was getting 22 mpg in the mountains!

Thanks huntsonora! Id love to see yours! do you have a build thread?

heres an old picture of the truck at Big Brutus in Arma, KS. this thing dug out all the old coal mines around here and it is ridiculously big!!

So I have really been contemplating cutting off the stinger from my trail gear bumper. I like stingers that are around hood level,
but think the truck would look good with the stinger gone and 3 hella's in between the headlights. any thoughts??

lol, the first thing I thought when I opened this thread the other day was "wow that stinger looks terrible" , so if you're asking for opinions , I say ditch it . You could easily cut it away , maybe level out the top at hood level , and still fit lights .

And I have a TG bumper as well but my stinger isn't as prominent as yours for some reason ....

My vote is for ditching stinger but not adding more lights. I have a 22RE '92 single cab with vinyl floor, and am interested in the bucket seat idea.
