Borrego a bargain now
The Kia Borrego is an old school SUV: Body on frame construction, 4x4 with low range, V8, room for three rows of seats. It's not a substitute for a Wrangler Rubicon (the Borrego has independent front suspension, among other things), but it's got plenty of capability. Think of it as a 4Runner or Pathfinder from Korea.
The Borrego was introduced into the worst possible conditions. Sky-high fuel prices and rapidly deteriorating financial conditions killed sales of all large SUV vehicles in 2008. Kia lost all hope for the Borrego in North America, and the 2009 models on dealer lots are the last we'll see.
This decision has killed Borrego resale value, but makes it possible to find great deals. How's this for an example:

2009 Kia Borrego LX $22,000
one owner, 12,000 miles
V8 with 330 hp, 337 ft-lbs, 6 speed automatic

A similar one year old 4Runner with V8 costs more than $33K.
