have hade a nize sommer.. explored some more roads in the moutains of Sweden..

i am now bilding a camper to it.. have not desided if there be a popp topp or a flipp topp.. se if a use the kiss princip then it will be a flipp topp..

So are these Brazilian Bandy's mechanicaly identical to an FJ40??? I realize that it's got a different motor but as the Axles/tranny/t-case/frame etc. the same underneath???

I think so. I don't know very well the mechanics of FJ40, but I guess it is the same as Bandeirante's. Only the engine is different. And this MB engine are the best engines here. I heard about people who had to open it only after 600.000mi! The common mileage is between 370.000 and 430.000.

That depends on the year.

From 58 to 61 was a Toyota 2F, 6 cylinder gasoline engine. From 61 to 73 was the Mercedes Benz OM324. From 73 to 90 was the Mercedes Benz OM314. From 91 to 94 was the Mercedes Benz OM364 (the best engine IMO). From 94 to 2001 was the Toyota 14B engine.
From 61 till the end of production (2001) all Bandeirantes were diesel engine.

I've installed 4 BF Goodrich MUD Terrain 265/75-R16 tires.

Now it is looking like a real off-road vehicle.

I intend to take it off, but as it is glued to the body, I'll leave it there for now. After I finish upgrading the car, this emblem is definitely going away.
