So I took off in early October on my dream job. Galavant around with an old time friend Steve Casimiro and shoot some fun stuff for a Toyota branded National Geographic campaign. All in all it was a great time and not a bad way to finish the year.

The Rover 2.0 was a key rig and I truly feel as though it was used as it was originally intended, a remote location shooting platform. We raced the sun up Porcupine Rim Trail, outran a snow storm off of Bolam Pass in the San Juans and trekked across the Navajo Nation between Canyon deChelly and Monument Valley where few people roam. Oh yeah there was the hanging by the beach early on, that wasn't bad either... The main site is here With more videos here.

In the quest for the perfect ride I decided the winds of change were again at my back. My old Fox shocks were in need of a rebuild but I had already grown tired of the maintenance, the recharging, the tightening, etc. The OME Sport Nitro Chargers sounded like a bit of a game changer with their new design. I spoke extensively with Ho as he recently went from the OME LTR's to the Sport's and he had nothing but praise. So, with that it was time to dive into yet another suspension day.

I needed new rear shock mounts and new front shock cones. I picked up the shock cones from a junk yard for $20 and a set of Expeditionware rear shock mounts from EE.

Ho customized some washers for my rear upper shock mounts to avoid any Rob Davison style breakage.

The old Fox Racing remote reservoir.

The new OME Sport Nitro Charger. I put the 60037 in the front and the 60039 in the rear. That combination with the OME 766 springs inthe front and the 763 springs in the rear feels like it's the magic formula for my truck. The ride was noticeably better straight out of the parking lot. Looking forward to getting it back in Utah in a week and a half.

As much as I dig my 7100's the recharging has gotten old ,nice to know some other options are out there , I know you like to roll heavy so this should be fun to watch and see how they do.

How often do the Foxes need to be charged? And what was the ride like? I never heard about those aspects of them.

The ride is great when they are running at 200psi all the way around. The problem I encountered was when I was out for over a week or over 300-400+ miles of off road, they would start to fade. The ride would deteriorate.

Granted they need to be rebuilt, but even after a rebuild it is just one more thing that I need to check. After my last trip, that I was out 6 weeks and drove 2,100 miles of everything from pavement, washboards to poison spider mesa, I only had one opportunity to get them recharged in Moab.

Sure would be great if we could embed videos... Guess you'll have to click on this link to see some crack climbing in Utah.

Drove from Los Angeles to Escalante yesterday with the aspirations of making it to Moab today to shoot some more climbing in Indian Creek. The drive was sunny and crisp.

I woke up to about 6" of snow at the ranch and some gloomy reports from the airports my climbers were flying out of. By noon one of them had already had her flight canceled in SeaTac and by 2pm another had his flight canceled from DIA. With no reason to press on I took a little exploratory mission out to McGath point.

I couldn't be happier with the new suspension although the snow probably softened things up nicely.
