Land Rover 4.0 crate motor for charitable donation

I'm posting this for a friend who isn't terribly mechanical. He isn't sure exactly what he has other than it is a "crate motor he bought for his 94 Defender" He spent close to $5,000 on it and it is still sitting in his garage - in the crate it was shipped in. He ended up selling the D-90 instead of putting the engine in and now wants it gone.
For what he paid for it, I am assuming that it is a complete engine, but that is an assumption and he's not sure. I couldn't imagine it being a short block for that sort of money. I was going to take it to put in my MGB, but that is now for sale to pay my bills from my divorce (it's the green 1974 MGB with the long list of new stuff on eBay right now being sold by BullittnBear - plug).
Anyway, he told me that he is getting ready to throw it out (literally). I told him to wait a little while and I will try to find it a home.
Since I won't take money selling something that someone else is giving away and he just wants it gone, I thought a honor-system charitable contribution would be appropriate. You choose who to give the money to (has to be a real org.) and how much. I bet you could find some worthy causes right here on the Portal.
The engine is in Malibu, CA. I have no pictures, but it is a new crate 4.0 aluminum Rover V8 - they all sort of look the same. PM me if interested.

Done

The engine has been claimed and has a runner-up. So I think I can officially call an end to this one. Thanks for the interest.

WAY of base

My deepest apologies to Rovertrader and his friend who put a significant amount of time and effort into getting this engine. It turns out that I was given inaccurate information about the engine. Instead of a new crate motor, it is a used 3.9 lump in need of a total rebuild. Even worse, I found out from Rovertrader, not even from the guy with the engine. I feel awful that both of them got their hopes up and went so far out of their way. If there is a way I can make it up to one or both, please let me know.
