Maybe TBI 350's were harder on gas? Maybe smaller tanks in the older one? ?‍♂️ Both my 2000 and 2009 had 5.3's.
Yeah maybe. We had the large gal tank in both(was a requirement for my dad) over 40. I think the 5.7's were much more thirsty than the 5.3's. Another reason why I'd like to get a 5.3 instead.

Oil eater.
My '89 3500 TBI 3500 got 12mpg every tank. 2wd stock gearing and tires. I took it up to the San Pedro Martir mts. in Baja one time. 65 miles of crosswash x2. Needed tie rod ends and the steering box loosened up. That year had the defective valve guides so the heads came off at maybe 5K.
I can say it freighted, used no oil after the valve guide, great brakes and started every time.

Thank you, basically unlimited and I mean unlimited miles of trails,
It’s in red rock canyon state park in CA, trails go through the park, but someone can drive all the way to northern Nevada up to Idaho without touching any asphalt road.

I'd say you did a great job of following it. Beauty of a rig you have. Those pics look like a magazine ad for Dodge. Very nice.
