Great photos! What did you think of the Grenadier?
Granadier belongs to my good friend,
It has 13. 000 miles, he bought it brand new.
Day one infotainment system didn’t work
No AC ( yes air conditioning is not working )
Week after it was impossible to drive due to steering issues , they had to add stabilizer to make it drivable.
It turns itself off on uphill positions city driving,
On this last trip it went into total limp mode, zero throttle response,
All the lights on the dash came on, it had to be towed,

Calling for technical support you must call to England, terrible non functional customer support.

If you ask me it’s not worth trading case of beer for a brand new one of those.

He has been fighting last few months to have it taken back by the factory, it’s a 🍋

My H2 has 240.000. Miles runs like brand new , can you imagine 240.000 miles on that English (( thing ))

Grenadier wanted to stay true to the Land Rover roots...so there goes your oroof.

H2 based on GMT 800/900 platform with proven track record of the GM trucks.

Grenadiers based on...unreliable Land Rovers everywhere. It was nice to see someone pick up a design like that where Land Eover went all sleel and sexy, but...

Damn! I've heard similar stories before, and I've heard of some folks who are really happy with their Grenadiers. It seems that quality control out of the factory is not great, and there is real variation: some seem to be (mostly) problem free, while others are just full of problems.

I pre-ordered a Grenadier when they opened up orders. Back then, it was being described as a simple, back-to-basics, 4x4 - as if it was going to be the equivalent (or the closest thing possible) to a brand new 80-series landcruiser. By the time they were ready to deliver it, enough doubt had been raised about the vehicle, and the closest dealer to me is 5 hours away, so the thought of having a problem vehicle did not sit well. I bought a Power Wagon.

I hope your friend gets Ineos to take it back.

Yes it’s impossible to compare power wagon to granadier.

Totally different world
You made much better choice.

Re-starting my build.
I had posted many years ago but oldest kid had mental health issues so stopped due to hospital bills, repairing the house, etc.
Finally getting around to starting again. Same truck. Hunted for a while to find a used cap that was a little taller than cab height.

Rattle can paint to get through the winter until I can sand and repaint good.

Drilled and stuck in some brake lights, despite measuring twice got the middle one lower than the others :)

Ngl the middle light being lower actually looks intentional from factory. I dig it. Solid "mistake" in my opinion.

There is a new truck in my garage.

Thanks to a deer encounter, I replaced my 2019 Chevy LT Trail Boss with a 2026 Custom Trail Boss in black with the Midnight Edition package. After looking at my options with both new and used trucks I determined they just don’t excite me anymore and are all overpriced junk.

I settled for the lower trim level than my previous ride just because it is somewhat familiar. I plan to add a few minor things including: rear fender liners, seat covers, better floor mats, under-seat storage, & fog lights. I am looking forward to getting out with the family and dogs to camp and explore soon. We are fairly minimalistic and are comfortable packing a cooler and ground tents under a tonneau for a week of exploring. What other mods/upgrades do you suggest?
"Overpriced Junk". Man you took the words right out of my mouth. I have been waffling on getting into something newer, but I have come to the same conclusion. They're all expensive, they're all junk, and I'm just not interested in participating. If I did end up in something new, it would be the same story for me. Pretty much "top of the line" base model. And with the failure rates on pretty much all the modern V8's from the big three, I'd be stuck hard on a lifetime powertrain warranty. Hopefully the ship rights itself in the next few years, but I won't hold my breath. I hope that Trail Boss serves you well for many years.

As for mods, just fuel it up an go. When you wear those tire out, you can throw something bigger in there, but the more I do this stuff, the more I realize I value simplicity and thoughtful mods over having the most built vehicle out there.

A simple privacy tent and basic portable toilet really up'd our 4x4 camping comfort without much weight/cost, especially in bad weather or in terrain that doesn't allow for pits. A tarp & poles with some SeaSucker style suction cups work great for an awning, not as fast as a dedicated, but waaaaay cheaper, and doesn't add $$$$ to your roof to scrape off on trees.
