Here is mine for when I go camp with my wife and my kid. So the idea was to build something that is not need it to be unfold on the night, Yes the tent. Usually for some reason we Got to the campsites on the dark. I dont know why but always happend. So I wanted something to keep us dry, yes Bad camping experience on October at the Cold nights of VERMONT with RAIN, RAIN AND MORE RAIN...I used camping foam pad from walmart over the plywood than carpet, so that way is no need to inflate the air matress and on the morinig air out, to reach items under it. Also storage on it, so on the night everything will be storage inside. Food-Coolers, Campsite don'y allow you to let things outside. BEARS, BEARS... so I came with this.
chevyz71, really like your setup. Nice work! In the last pic, I see your bottle opener. Good thought. I have mine screwed to my bumper. Either way, essential! ;-)
Well, I've been lurking about this thread and others like it on here for quite awhile now. I don't yet have my canopy- I just came in from the shop and after much copying of others and some of my own ideas have come up with a camping setup. I have a Snugtop Sport Hi-Liner on order- couple weeks out- can't wait. Truck is an '09 F250 Crew cab 8' bed.
Ajohns, looks like you are all ready to put a canopy on that truck. Also, if you need your bottles opened you can use a lighter if you have nothing else. You dont want that beer :beer:getting warm!:ylsmoke:
Not as nice as most here, but I just put this together for a trip w/my 6yo son. Told him I'd take him hunting with me this year, so some nicer accommodation were in order. This will probably be the nicest hunting camp I've used in YEARS!!
Got the shell for free off of craigslist, and threw the platform together with stuff I had Laying around.
