Nice set up! Is that a gobi rack with a rampage soft top? How do you like that combo? Would you share your impression of the rack in particular?
Thanks,
John
^^^also interested in that answer, a new top has migrated to the top of the $$$ list, my factory soft top windows and zippers are about done.
Thanks John!
The Gobi is great! Easy 2 hour install, all bolt on, with two people. I did have to get longer replacement bolts for my bumper. I chose Gobi because it had the best load rating of the racks for the LJ. I would like to add the front (removable) panel, but it will have to wait (have other projects to fund). Bonus, all of my existing Yakima hardware, bike and snowboard mounts, etc..., are compatible with the crossmembers.
One thing to note, it is not easy to get the hardtop off after the rack was installed. I suggest making that decision before installing.
bob91yj,
As for the Rampage, I only have it on the Jeep for extended trips when I am unsure of the weather or for the hottest part of the summer here in Las Vegas. I usually have a
http://spiderweb shade on it. I love the fact that I can store the sides and back up in the top and not have to make room for them in the back. It's very easy to get on and off, about 10min by myself (5min for the sides and back). The pic below isn't the best for showing off the top, but it's on there with the sides and back tucked away in the top.
I like the look of the new
Bestop Trektop NX w/ the fold back fold back front. It's a little more hardware than I really want but would be nice to have that option...
One more pic for Expo...
