This was back in '07, went a bit crazy as the focus was more serious trail duty with minimal provisions for two- Clayton long arm, coil overs, 40's, ram assist, custom axles- quite the $$ pit:
06 Rubicon, 6" Full Traction LA, 31.5 gal gas tank, 6.0 Vortec, Other stuff, shown camping in the Maze District of Canyonlands and Rock Crawling in St George
Cruises easily at 75, comfortable during week long back country trips, competent rock crawler
I had a 98 Wrangler, loved that thing and beat her every chance I could. The only thing I wanted was a longer rear like the unlimited has. I am not in the market, but if I was, and had the funds, in a heartbeat I'd get one.
Everyone compares the LJ's to Scrambler's, IMO they are a modern CJ-6. I was actually looking at building a CJ-6 when the Unlimited's came out. The long wheel base/short overhangs of the Unlimited are more similar to the -6 than they are to the longer overhang on the -8 (Scrambler). I know tom-A-toes/tom-a-tos, just saying is all!:sombrero:
