Let's see your Strange Cargo

So in case anyone was wondering if 4ea 35x12.50 tires would fit in a Chaser, the answer is yes, comfortably.

Over the last month my chaser has seen some strange stuff as I have been utilizing it as utility as well as camper. I bought a 52' flat-screen TV and strapped it down to the top of the EA RTT, worked like a champ. I wish I had some pictures to prove it.

Anyone else got interesting cargo?

Had to make a second trip to get the kitchen table - put it upside down on the rollbar and windshield.....

Not strange, but sure was awkward... only had to drive a few miles.

Some of the boards are 14 feet, I had to remove the passenger seat. I sure needed a trailer back then!

Then there was this...

Funny story with this one.

We were heading out to run a trail and I saw this guy pass me. I started driving like a maniac to catch up while I was getting my camera out of the bag. I handed it to my co-driver and as we were snapping away the guy looked over. He saw me and started waving, only then did I realize I work with the guy. He still turns red when he sees me at work now.

Transporting tires seems to be a trend. Here's 5 33x12.5x15s in the back of my old ZJ. 4wheel parts swore they would not fit. :)

Way back when I had a 79 Chevy Passenger van. The extended family found out that it was large enough to haul all their junk. Tore the interior apart twice.

Same thing happened to a cherry 88 Ford Club wagon.

After that, When I got a 99 Expedition, I said enough was enough and in 1999 I got a enclosed tandem axle 6X12 utility trailer . I let them beat that up. I still have the trailer, and it can take the hit and still works and looks good.

The interior of the Expedition was in great shape when I gave it to my mother in 2005. That is when I got my 2005 Exursion.

But I will tell you, I havve done the same thing, carrying some really odd stuff!!

Saw a guy one time hauling a full-sized couch in the back of a Suzuki Samurai once. Standing on end in the back. Wish I had a pic.

You know guys, I'm starting to think that running from Iowa to Salt Lake in my wife's '89 Probe GT with 220k on it to haul back a pair of Currie 9" axles for my Jeep wasn't that strange....

I snapped this pic last year at my local lumber yard, I've seen some pretty crazy loads coming out of there. He had the front of the 6x6 wedged under the front seat.

A load of dirt.

Went to get the dirt with the trailer. About a mile from home the trailer axle sheared off. Used a shovel and loaded the dirt in the truck. Tossed a large log under the trailer to act as a skid. Drove home with the trailer smoking and the rear suspension on bump stops. As we rounded the corner of the subdivision the trailers U bolts sanded off. Made it home though.:smiley_drive:

I was picking up a load of gravel last year, and saw a guy who had taken the seats out of his minivan, put down a tarp, and was shovelling gravel into the van.
