LJ- On Board Air Tanks Ideas

I am currently working on my on board air project and am looking for any ideas or pics of air tank solutions out there. Any help would be appreciated as I am struggling here.

Remove the ABS tray in the engine compartment, and you can fit a tank in that spot, you can bolt it to the inner fender. I did this on my LJ and it worked great. Place the bottle drain at the bottom, and than you can reach up from underneath and access the drain plug.

Sorry, no pics, but it works great. The Abs tray takes some bending to get out of the small space, but it can be done!

If you have solid boxed in bumpers, like Body Armor or Bulletproof, you can turn them into an air tank.

I was planning to put my compressor there. where did you mount yours?

I actually had the Kilby System, so I didn't have to worry about the compressor mount.
I think it was a 1.5 gallon tank. I can't remember, it was a few years ago, and no longer own it.

I have a 2 (or 2.5?) gallon Viair tank and Viair 450 located under the tub, just forward of the rear axle. There is a flat plate screwed into the reinforcing ribs along the bottom of the tub, and everything is mounted to the plate. Lessons learned:
1. The Viair 450 is way too slow when trying to fill 35" tires. The 400 is much faster.
2. Be sure to mount your compressor with resilient (rubber) isolators. Mine makes a terrible racket when turned on. Being mounted to a piece of aluminum flat plate does not help!

Do you happen to have any pics?

I mounted my Viair in the ABS tray location, without the tray it fits easily. I don't have a tank right now...

On the LJ tub there is a space next to the driveshaft the same size as the muffler, which is on the other side of the driveshaft. This is a great location for a air tank, I would like a Aux fuel tank in that location myself.

Same on a TJ, just bigger :) I've had 2 diff tanks in that location for a long long time. (Airocked TJ) Haven't managed to ********** it yet.

Also, if you're worried what happens when a DS comes apart on the road with the tank there. It just smacks the muffler and hits the ground. (man that was a fun drive to work)

AirRock'ed TJ! That is an awesome system. Has it been pretty trouble free for you?

I've got a SE TJ with OBA with Viair 450 and a small tank. I use flexable 1/4" lines with disconnects front and rear. I cover the disconnects with 1" rubber chair boots. It is not the best weather proofing, but it appears to work pretty good. I haven't used the rear output so it probably isn't necessary back there. I have a coiled line I connect to the front to air up tires, air mattresses, etc. Make sure you test out the connectors at home before going on any trip. I didn't have the correct connector for the air mattress, so that night sleep was a little rough.

Mounted tank opposite the muffler and as far forward as possible to be protected by stock skid plate.
