on my frontier when I ha it had a rear bumper that a have bed sliders added to it. Save my bed probably a thousand times.

I have developed a weird squeaking noise coming from the front suspension, passenger side. It's so sensitive, it squeaks when I close the door. Gonna pull the tire off today and see what I can see.

Well, I poked around under there, couldn't seem to find anything. I pulled the swaybar off, went for a drive, and it still squeaks.

So I went inside, did a little research on ClubFrontier, and figured out the issue. It's the hood. When the hood is latched, either those little rubber bumpstops or the latch mechanism makes this little chirping sound. I can almost recreate it with my finger where the bumpstop rides on the front crossmember. I popped the hood and went for a (slow!) drive around the neighborhood, hitting every pothole I could. No more squeak.

Also, I'm not so sure about running without a front swaybar. There is definitely more front suspension movement, but there is also definitely more leaning. If I turn the wheel from 1/4 turn left to 1/4 turn right, I nearly feel like I'm going to fall out the window. That being said, under normal conditions, it shouldn't really be a problem. I just worry about emergency maneuvers. I'm going to drive with it a few days and see how I feel about it.

Just got off the horn with Outback Proven about the Kaymar bumper. Their price was right about $2600. :Wow1: That is a lot of cash for a rear bumper, so I'm not sure if that's something I want to do. Just the bumper itself would be $1500, which is definitely reasonable. Or, I could buy the bare steel Shrock bumper for $710 and add a set of swing arms to that.

Or I could just use the steel I have sitting in my garage from the bumper I was going to build for Nancy and adapt! Looks like this will be the way I'm going. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Yikes!! How much of that was to get it here from Aus? I figured it'd be high, and likely the most expensive of the options you listed, but I didn't expect closer to 3k than to 2 ... who was it with the 3k suspicion? That was a good call ... I'd have owed you beers, had we made a friendly wager.

I'm not sure how much the actual shipping charge is, but I'd be willing to bet it's not bad. Funny thing is, it's still cheaper to get it here than it would be to buy it in Australia. According to an Aussie 4x4 parts site, it'd be $3230 AUSD for the full Kaymar kit. That's $3046 USD.

Personally I'd have gone the pure custom route unless you find a steal on a unit that youd like from now till then. For that pricing, I wouldn't even consider it even if I had that much to spend. There are better and more numerous ways to spend $2600.

My thoughts exactly.

Nah, custom. I think we can make something that looks just as good. :)

^ ok that gets my vote...clean lines and unobnoxious, which is why I like the Shrock too.
