RE: "A lot of building this kind of truck is about indulgence. Why fight it?" Awesome attitude - and I mean that genuinely, not as a sarcastic dig ... as long as we're being honest; my growing parts pile in the garage contains a front locker for similar reasons (because I want it).

Thanks for the support!

So, I went on a trip to mom and dad's up north and spent a total of 15 hours of driving. I hand calculated my mpg numbers and got a bit of a shock. My trip computer was reading 17.2 mpg while doing 70. I was pretty surprised to find that it's quite a bit off. My hand calculated numbers came out to 19.7! Not sure why the computer is so far off, but I am pretty happy to find out that the real numbers are so much better.

Trip computer is off because it's still measuring off of stock tires?

Probably.

OP also watch your speed, as you likely were doing 73-76MPH when your speedo said 70. Easy to broach into the "get a ticket" zone, versus just a little bit over the speed limit.

Dunno if you use a tuner (I don't even know if there are any for Frontiers), but I adjust my tuner (I have a Titan)for my tire size-so the tuner displays the corrected speed. Verry accurate according to both my GPS & a local radar speed display sign.

You can also use a gps, or just "know" that your X-percentage over.

No sir. :)

Speedo is dead on accurate at all speeds (checked with GPS). I know how tire size can mess up the speedo, so that's the first thing I checked, just to make sure. But 265/75R16 tires are stock size for the Nismo trucks, and their speedometers are calibrated for that size. Matter of fact, all Frontiers are for some reason. I came across a lot of people commenting on that when I was looking at tire sizes. Nissan just being silly I guess. No tuner on the truck.

Hehe I don't worry about speed limits out here. I do 70-75. The limit is 75. Everyone does 80. The cops only pull over people breaking 85. :D

Thanks it's beautiful, any time frame on "2.o" and I'm assuming that the frontier bumper was ordered as custom, because I didn't see any Frontier bumpers on their web page. Also do the swing outs have piston assist? What is the locking situation is it a toggle action clamp?

Sorry for the late arsed response!

I'm not sure when it will be ready to be honest. This bumper was made a few years ago, and the demand was pretty low, so he never put it up on the site. Chris at HeftyFab is a good guy, just give him a call and he'll be able to tell you more than I can. :)

I do know that there aren't any piston assists, and the clamp is a toggle style, although I'm not sure what kind specifically.

The truck is looking great! Having just picked up a newer Xterra, I can't help but laugh after reading your first post over again in regards to how quiet and relaxed these 2nd Gen trucks are over the 1st gen! I am still blown away by the quiet road manners the X has! My first gen was like driving with the windows open all the time, and passing just wasn't an option unless the stars aligned and I was going downhill, with a tail wind, on an Thursay, with Jesus sitting shotgun... It just wouldn't want to go fast enough to do it.

Well maybe I'll beat ya to it at least for the rear bumper, just backed up into a tree stump the other weekend while camping.

Go for it! It's a killer bumper as far as I've heard.

Hahahaha I know the feeling, and mine was a supercharged truck!! :) My friend said it perfectly when he first shut the door in my new truck. He said that it's a lot better than the old truck, it doesn't sound hollow when you slam the door.

And congrats on your new X! The second gens are awesome!
