Was the dirt road between Elephant and Bobby's Hole still washed out with deep ruts or have they come in and fixed the tracks? I remember quite a few bypasses had started up back in Aug.

Still extremely rutted, much worse than it was when I was there last in 2006.

As Zack told you, we're planning a very similar trip from Mexican Hat to Moab for either this October or next Spring. I'd love your input on turning the "route into an itinerary." Would also love if you could join.
