This is probably a rig more suited to the IH8MUD crowd that use the vehicles for more than fire roads and campground events. Probably a rolled or accident rig that was repurposed.

Not really all that much cosmetic stuff on an '89 range rover. Especially compared to most stock vehicles now.

I thought it was the exhaust gaskets that stopped leaking.

There is actually just shy of 1400lbs of strictly plastic/clothe/trim/cosmetic garbage on a '89 RRC. I only know this from stripping a few and weighing it. You are correct if you were to compare it to new vehicles.
