Looking for a Discovery 1

I know there's a for sale section on this forum but, I really wanted to see if my fellow Rover owners could point me in the right direction!

I'm currently hunting for a good Disco 1 to begin building. I unfortunately had to sell my Discovery 1 a couple of months back and I'm tired of staring at that lonely oil stain in the driveway.

What I need....
A mechanically sound Discovery 1 of any year. I'd prefer a 5-speed (hey I can dream right?) but, an automatic will be just fine too. I really need this to be no more than $4k. With that being said, I'm obviously not expecting to find something "ExPo ready" in that price range. Just has to be a good base to reach that point someday.
I'm currently located in Louisville, Ky. I am willing to do some traveling, but would love to keep it in my region. Maybe further travel for the right car.

For that price I don't know of anything unless someone east has a parts truck around. I remember there were a couple D1 5-speeds located in TN when I was searching, so just try all the auto-tempest, car-guru type sites.

Again, for around $4k I struggled to find anything that was in good running order. A D2 sure, not a D1 (maybe an auto)

Thanks for the info. I believe I have a D1 automatic lined out for this weekend. Higher miles at 177k but, has a stack of maintenance records including a recent head gasket job.
