Looking For a New 1/2Ton

It’s the way they’d force me from from a 6.5’ box scab to a screw (+5000) that adds most of the cost. I didn’t price the 8’box scab.
Huh. Difference up here is only about 2k more for a supercrew vs extended. Weird.

It varies a lot on B&P

When the '15's came out it was twice as much to go screw F-150 than a screw F-250. Its been awhile obviously but I want to say it was like $8k vs $4k.
B&P?

Yes, it's a bit of a jump to go from F150 to Super Duty here too. Damn it...

Im also considering both a f150 3.5 and f250 7.3.
Surprisingly I can spec them both out the way I want them (xl super cab with some options) and they’re within $1,000 of each other. That’s without the max tow and hdpp on the f150 which is another 8k. The f150 would save me $2k/year in fuel at today’s fuel cost.
I'll say that after driving both, dollar for dollar, the F150 is going to be quite a bit nicer inside (at least to me), to get a 250 with the same look at feel it's quite a bit more than the lower baseline trim packages offered, I'd guess you'd need to step up to the Lariat....

I've built work trucks ie XLT 300a because around here an XL with options costs MORE
And an HDPP max tow F150 with tow mirrors was only a few thousand cheaper than a bare bones F250 XLT. It was all the nickle and dimes like tow mirrors (at the time brake control was extra) and the HD packages jacked up an F150 so high that the plain Jane 6.2 gas F250 was not much more.
Now the 7.3 adds a few grand maybe 3k locally so that changes but it also gives 4 more gears.
I ran my 3.7 NA V6 F150 in fleet for four years so I'm sure a 6.2 will do better.
F150s only seem to be a good deal when it's a common trim on the lot, anything deviating from the norm is a premium. At least locally.

That's what I was saying above, I don't think they compare directly, I'd guess XLT F150 compares more favorably to a Platinum F250.....dollar for dollar you are getting a nicer appointed truck with the F150.

Then 150 was more than a 250.

Here a 150 and a 250 cost about the same now. (for an XL which is all I want)
What I think you'll find for the F150's and F250's that are priced the same, the F150 will have a better finish and feel on the inside. I'd have to compare them side by side, but I think a XLT F150 = Lariat F250 based on how they felt to me....

You can get a 6.2 and 10spd in the 350 if you want. Another thing with Superduties is that you can get lower gearing, as well as better front tire clearance... good if you are thinking of 37s. A full floating rear axle is another benefit.

I thought the cabins were exactly the same between the two?

They are the same trim.....fabric, leather and all as long as the trim level is the same. I own both 150 and 250 same year.
