Awesome thread, started doing the research now for camper, flatbed, truck build.
For those of you with flatbed campers, I've read that it was difficult to fill up sometimes. Also with all open space underneath, is it hard to get all the mud and grime out, will buildup ultimately reduce the longevity of the flatbed.
OP, if you could list or pm me the flatbed manufacturer details.
Lastly, was told when it comes to overlanding weight, fuel, water, livable space are at a premium, if you are driving anything less than 2500 then power will be wanting.

Which one did you end up getting?
Nothing yet. We are going to continue the research at Expo (3 weeks!!!) and make a decision. Probably going with a simple, US made tray for 8-foot bed on a F-250. Will do FWC Hawk and a "garage" box between the camper and truck cab. We are planning a year-long trip so the extra storage is important to us.

I am reviving this thread. I am in the market for a flatbed for my F250. I love the look of the norweld, with the current state of affairs, they seem pretty hard to come by.

I spoke with Tafco, they make the home depot rental trucks, I am considering one of their beds. I like the drop down sides.

I have a ute bed on a tacoma, I think its the perfect fit. I am alittle skeptical of it on the fullsize.

I will not be putting a camper on the F250 flatbed. It will strictly be for work. I am curious if any one has tried the MITS yet if so what are your thoughts? Of the US providers does anybody have any expierence?

ALot of my relatives has used a few companies but they always getthe steel ones. They are no help ha ha
