Get the TRD Pro, its a nice mix of a Jeep Rubicon and a Ford Raptor in terms of performance. But you also have that Toyota reliability. Perfect vehicle.

Has Toyota addressed the suspension knock in the TRD Pro?...plenty of internet chatter on that issue...

I don't know if I agree with the comparisons, but in my opinion, he ended up getting a Trail with KDSS which will perform better in many off-road and on-road situations than a TRD Pro.

I've heard some people talk about it but haven't seen any service bulletins. Personally havent had any issues with mine and im always out on trails. Will try to remember to ask at the next oil change.

You should come for a ride with me and then you might agree. I think youre right that a Trail might be better in the rocks due to KDSS but then again the Pro supposedly has 1" of extra wheel travel that might make up for lack of KDSS. Pro is definitely much faster in the desert. Trail is going to be better on the highway unless you hit a pothole.

My wife would have loved the pro in the sand color but when it all came down what we could afford and needed wasn't the same as what we would love to have. We got the trail because it is her daily driver and the KDSS is good both on road and off. Love the trac control and crawl control plus dif lock can't wait to try them all out.

We did end up getting the husky liners, should be here tomorrow, can't wait. First mod

The TRD's upward wheel travel might be slightly different from the Trail Edition, but downward wheel travel should be relatively the same since they both use the same sway bar setup (excluding those models with KDSS of course). As for comparing the 4runner, of any trim, to a Rubicon or Raptor, that turns into an apple to oranges discussion IMHO. The Rubicon has two solid axles which seem to offer much more versatility in difficult terrain. The Raptor's pickup bed and suspension setup make it much more capable at desert running and hauling loads. The 4runner, by comparison, is excels at no one specific activity, but rather is fairly decent in a variety of applications...a jack of all trades SUV.

OP, congrats on the purchase!

No, I personally don't have one - yet. It's on my list. They are highly regarded, and made here in the States. Southern Style is also working on a full bumper too.

Just to clarify, they made a full rear bumper, not a full front bumper. There was a group buy going on somewhere for the rear bumper, but it's on the site too. I'll find out about the group if anyone is interested. I'm friends with the SSO guys.

thats what i was talking about when i said its a nice middle ground. right in the middle. not better at what other vehicles specialize in but good all around like you said. Sorry for confusing you.

Thanks Dan, we do like it so far planing a camping trip in the next two weeks already

So I'm looking at floor liners first purchase for vehicle, and I'm split between the husky brand and the weather tech brand does any one have ether, thoughts?

There was one thing that made this decision very easy for me... On the 4Runners, the Weathertech mat only goes up half way on the dead pedal. The Husky goes all the way up and over. When your muddy/wet left foot is resting on the dead pedal, it goes all the way up - you would want the mat to do the same.
Now if you want a perfectly clean look, you can't beat the Weathertech.
