Looking to lift, need advice!

We recently acquired a class b RV based on the Dodge B3500 chassis. We have a LOT of modifications planned to equip this for travel outside of the US but right now I'm researching our options to lift it a few inches. I tried posting on the Dodge forum but those guys have no imagination and just said "don't do it!". :Wow1:

It's 1999 Dodge 3500 Ram Van, gas, 2wd, the 19' one-ton van with a 5.2L V8 and automatic transmission. Equipped with air ride system. I've tried searching unsuccessfully online for a lift kit and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Before I start the disappointing news, that is a really good looking RV! Congratulations!

Best place to start would be increasing your ground clearance. Ditch the body kit.

He can't ditch the body kit from that van... The skirts are part of the body. Those wide body Dodges are just a big fiberglass shell. Also, there's tons of stuff that are part of the boxes, sewer, etc.

The Mc Bay Performance coil spacers are the only lift options I found... Finally, if you can find 5 other van owners who want to lift their Dodge Ram Van, Weldtec Designs is willing to do it for you (proof).

To be honest, I cancelled the purchase of a Pleasure-Way I had found on a Dodge Ram Van chassis because there's practically no options. I ended up buying a Chevy based Class B instead (see build thread).

That being said, some people pull off incredible things! Good luck with your project. I'll be following!

I've seen people who have had off road shops use a 2" block kit in the back and coils up front. No idea what they used for shocks though.

I own 7 Dodge vans including a 4x4.

Your options suggested so far are accurate.

Few aftermarket choices exist for these rigs. That's why you got it at such a good price.

The only one I can think of is to replace the lower control arms with the pickup truck version. Lots of pickup guys swap in van LCAs to lower them. Just reverse the process. Find an article on lowering a truck and read it backwards.
