Excelsior!
teotwaki- you are out of line. Ed's post was very polite, if you are going to get a massive wedgie over it, that is your choice. And by the way, the only reason I even looked at this thread is because you reported a post. A dissenting opinion is not against Expo rules.
Dear Connie,
The wedgie alert was a JOKE... ... because I found what Ed said to be amusing and I extended his funny phrase into a response. Seeing as you did not find it to be funny it just shows how posts are misunderstood.
Dissenting opinion? Okay, then I'm sure it is okay to use his "acceptable" post as a guideline to post a dissenting opinion.... here goes:
Certain moderators (being American) are not responsible enough to handle freedom fries, much less credit cards, debit cards, cheap trailer park rent, illegal meds, Ripple Wine, let alone posts about gun control/religon/and politics.
When it almost feels personal it seems different, right? Mods are unpaid for their time and sensitive to criticism about trying to keep the Portal a friendly place. I won't confuse Lowenbrau's outburst as indicitive of all Canadians nor do I lump you in with any mods that go overboard. Whenever I want to say something disparaging about other forum members' countries I'll just refer to the definition of dissenting opinion in this thread. Or would that be an incorrect approach? I can imagine that it may well be.
As LostCanadian once said, posts like that are is if someone took a poker to the the Fireside Chat campfire and scattered the embers. I do take note that Lowenbrau subsequently posted some clarification that is better worded and unlikely to open a U.S.-Canadian rift :sombrero:
