The Lone Wolf Transglobal site entry for 21 October 07 has a great story about wheeling with some Honduran locals, and ending up towing not one, but two Toyota Land Cruisers!

Actually, one Cruiser was disabled, and the second one couldn't pull it up this spot in the trail. But you don't see a LR with two Land Cruisers in tow very often!

Hang on to that photo. You never know if you'll ever get another one.:)

Quite hilarious. Different countries, different cultures, blah blah blah, but Landy (un)reliability and Landy vs Toyota is common ground the world over.

There are some unmentionables in the forum that would say that picture is not possible and blame Photoshop.

To them I say...."EAT MY GRITS!"

Calm, people, calm. Sometimes, deep in the bush, even the impossible can seem to occur. . .

. . .of course this may be due to the unmentionable plants everyone was chewing on. . .

:shakin:

cheers

Hey, even in the Outback Challenge, there were NO Rover breakdowns (three competing), yet the Patrols and Land Cruisers had many, so anything can happen.

I just think it is all of the electronic / luxury stuff LR fit to the NA models. I drove a 96 Disco I in France, with the TDI and manual everything. The truck was flawless, efficient and in my mind - perfect.

And when it comes to Off-road performance, Land Rover certainly doesn't give anything up to Toyota. They are both pretty awesome in that regard, though you can find factory diff. locks in the Toyota line, which will give them an advantage.

Exactly. Even new Cruisers are starting to scare me. Too much electronic stuff.
