LR3 owners sound off, which tires?

I think the 255/70 would be perfect because it's not wide enough to rub the frame horns and tall enough to give you necessary ground clearance. Hoping someone will buy them before I have too...

Did they warranty them? So many have been running duratracs and mtr's with positive experiences , that is the first I've heard of a delam

This happened after a Winter Romp.Just a highway driving with a very cold Fri and Sat off roading, but it did not happened there, only when I got back to NJ and spotted damage by just walking around my car one day talking to a friend if the phone.one was in horrible shape , cracks all around sidewall , scary stuff.Three weeks of going back and forth between installer and goodyear customer service .Two managers acknowledged manufacturer's defect and Goodyear did nothing. I moved a upper management to the extend that local shop decided to fully refund my money and privately go after a Goodyear alone.

I have 275/65 18 cooper st maxx's. Love them. It was between those, the stt pro'shop or toyo open country mt's. I think I madecided a good choice. They perform well both off and on road. Less aggressive sidewall lugs so no rubbing on the a arm. Wanted the stt pro'shop or the toyo's but I really don'the get to go off road that much and avoid soupy TN Clay anyway.

What load rating did you have? I did not realize they make them in 275 with a standard load rating SL, those are only 4 ply tires. I bought the LT E rated for my truck which are 10 ply tires. Do you have any specs like mileage you had on the tires or pressures when you saw this occur? There are a lot of rigs on here with those tires and my concern is for our safety.

Absolutely agree. It may be that the bad experioence GY are not E load range but that probably still won't account for the high mileage most people report on BFG AT KO. I got over 75,000 on one set and only pulled them off to go larger. They had 3/8" or more tread depth left! I did do 5 tire rotations and a flip once or twice. Keeping in mind that solid axle vehicles (Disco 2, LC 80) don't really need tire flipping but independent suspensions (LR3/4RR) wear out the inner edge much more than out edge due to the camber, mainly in the rear. For example this is probably not really an issue on the Land Cruiser 100 and 200 because the rear is still a solid axle design.

For LR3/4 going off road at all, E load range is simply the first most important upgrade in my opinion.

Load rating ? There were 265/60/18 which indicated a 110 load bracket. That does not mean they should crack like that with just a 1000 miles on them.Period.They cracked on he highway , not off road.I am done with Goodyear for life...2 ply, three ply of four..it does not matter .Tires should not split like that at all especially when new.I purchased the last set of five in the country as they are still on national back order and will probably be till July , in that particular size .What a mistake that was...I wonder if they pulled out all tires in that size for a reason or they really run out of this particular size , why a delay then ?

Ok. We get it. You hated them. I was trying to get to real info about the failure.

It matters what load rating tire you get if your putting them on a 5600 pound truck that you intend to take off-road. It matters how many miles you put on them. It matters what pressure you run. All factors in how a tire wears, heat induced into the tread and possibly early tread failure. I am a Land Rover tech who also owns a LR3 that I literally put duratracs on today, NOT someone who is defending Goodyear or any other manufacturer.

You don't want to help? Why even post?

110 load rating is a minimum a LR recommends for an LR3 and that is what a Duratrac for that size is rated. The fact that they deteriorated so quickly is disappointing enough. Maybe some Some people had more luck than I did, I don't care.I had high hopes for this tire and the way the Goodyear CS reacted to this is downgrading . Bad luck ..or batch ? maybe , but this is not the way a Customer service should have reacted to this.
