LR3 Parts

My LR3 turned into every other Rover I've had, always broke.

The truck was great until about 100,000 miles, but since then nothing but head aches. I spent roughly three grand on the truck within the last year just on parts.

Finally the truck developed a horrible idle when cold so I was at the point were I was going to need to replace the injectors hoping that would fix it. It also started throwing a parking brake code a couple times a week which darn near shuts down the truck.

I loved my LR3, but would absolutely not recommend buying one. In fact it will be my last Rover.

I picked up a 2004 Land Cruiser and couldn't be happier. The only thing the LR3 has on the LC is feel. The LR3 just felt good to drive.

Care to share your experience with the LR3 and the reasons for selling?

All parts sold.

The LR3 was my fourth Land Rover, and I was hoping for better. It took me everywhere I needed to go for four years, but ultimately I couldn't justify throwing any more money at it and no longer trusted it to get me home.

It's not a matter of maintenance, as hard as it is to hear it's a matter of quality.

Rovers are like crack, as soon as you're clean you realize you had a problem.

I disagree. In MOST cases in the real world , it is a maintenance that keeps an LR3 going .I don't know , of what quality issues you are talking about in terms of LR3, but technology and reliability wise it is lightyears ahead of it's predecessors such as D1, D2s and P38. I already have 180 000 miles on mine , many off road , and still performs , drives almost like new. Maintenance is the key, in my opinion and this is probably why my LR3 never got my stranded .Maybe you were just an unlucky one . Cheers

Good luck with Yota, though, maybe grass IS greener on the other side.
