Huge shout out to furniture clinic. I've used leatherique in the past with decent results but heard about this company on a BMW forum I frequent. You can do your own research as there's 100's of threads out there(and probably some here too).

I'll keep this short. Input my color code online, ordered kit for $75 and did the whole seat in a couple hours. IMO the $75 kit is enough for 2 seats.

Step one
Wipe with prep/brillo pad

Step two
Wipe with Alcohol

Step 3
Apply thin coat with provided foam "brush"

Step 4
Apply colorant with provided airbrush

Step 5
Apply Clearcoat/protectant.

This system is the same way all factory leather is dyed and the color of your leather is just a painted/dyed piece of cow Hyde.

I feel the result speaks volumes.

A trained monkey could do this as to which i'm proof positive.

If you're thinking of doing it then just go for it..

How did you get the color match done?

I found my interior code/color and selected it from the list.

They have basically all OEM colors you just have to make sure you get the right color code(call dealer or do a vin search/build search).

Match was perfect.

Nice work! I have a Leatherique kit sitting in my house I've been meaning to run on my front seats. If that doesn't work, I am surely going to your way of business as I have heard mixed reviews on the Leatherique as well.

I am going to do it when my Melvill & Moon seat covers show up so I have new-ish reconditioned leather under the covers. I'll surely be hitting you up if it comes to this, thanks for sharing!

Just out of curiosity, is the wipe with brillo/scuff pad and then alcohol the cleaning process? I ask because mine are pretty dirty as well, so wondering if you had to do this just once for your results or twice or whatever? Do you think this will work on the door panels as well?

If you use a brillo and prep it will remove all the old dye and your seats will look like crap.

3 coats of dye with 10 min dry time between each and 3 coats of clearcoat with similar dry times.. Think of it like painting a car. The leather is the metal, there's no primer, the dye is the paint and the clear coat is the clear coat protecting it all.

If you do this it will be as durable as when it left the factory and theoretically should last as long.

Leatherique is great stuff(the rejuvenator + pristine clean) and will make the leather feel different and may take out some wrinkles.. Once the finish is worn off it wont help.

Its a great place to start because if you dye later on the leather will be in better shape to start with(the actual leather not the color/finish).

I don't want to hijack this thread but can something similar be done with the carpets?

Steam cleaner or in extreme cases you can dye the floor. I did my trunk in my Lexus IS250 back in the day. I had tan interior floor and the truck was tan too in 07...........why I have no idea but I dyed the trunk carpet black. Once it dries, carpet clean it and it looked great. I considered doing my Landy LR3 tan interior carpet but once I installed the WeatherTech liners I changed my mind...for now!

So I just bought a huge Mexican Pinata for a holiday party at work and it was raining when I put it in the back seat of my LR3. The streamers got a little wet and when I took it out I saw that it stained my seat red and green. my front seats are pretty haggard and I wanted to use this kit but is there anyway to get that off? Ive tried leather cleaner and a corse sponge it worked a little but you can still see it. If nothing else works I'll buy this kit.
