Scepter fuel can carrier/STM
^ uprights getting cleaned up and prepped for the spare tire mount to be welded on. Supports were removed and fully welded during this step.
But first... beefed up the STM a little... and threw some paint on 'er so's she don't get that orange color to 'er.
I gotta say here... I picked this thing up for $ 20. laying around as scrap at my local metal works... it was a warped twisted up mo fo... and I had to take 'er apart and reweld the damn thing... just to be able to use it... It's still not perfect. Nor ever will be...
But it's gonna do it's job whether it wants to or not. :whip:
Meh... I'm not out to win a ribbon for first prize here...
but as far as function... should hold 'da fort.
welded up the bottom flat stock that supports the bottom of the cans
cans swell somewhat... and still seemed to fit fairly well...
they don't seem excessively tight... they are snug enough that they won't rattle around... but they seem to tilt out of the carrier with ease.
Here's some hardware removed temporarily
and the mess I've created in 'da garage. :saw::welder:
Next up, is to weld on that STM to the uprights...
and get busy with fabbing up the mounting plate for the fuel can basket.
things have been a little busy... so bare with me...
tomorrow I gotta replace brakes/rotors on all 4 corners of Da Woo
so that'll cut me short on working on the fuel can ********.
