One thing leads to another. Getting ready to head out with the sleeper to Big bend area for a few days with my son. We ended up buying a few acres of high desert rough country just to take the camper to.LOL
Should have a bunch of pics when we get back next week.

Big Bend, Terlingua area.
My son and highs 70s and lows 40s, he slept outside in his tent cot and lots of blankets.

setup a temporary shooting range. Distant hills,rocks, creosote bushes. Thats all there is out there.

Really happy with the sleeper/camper. Tows 80mph on west Texas hi ways and don't even knows its there. Did add a semi completed 10 gallon tank with gravity flow water system on top for showering, solar heated and gets too hot in the summer heat. So plan is to make a matching aluminum skin removable cover for the water tank.

Now has 5000 miles of on/off road miles, more like 4500 on road miles and a few off road but zero trouble.

I eyeballed those genset trailers for years. Had a vague plan to mate it up with one of those military surplus communications shelters they used with the 5/4 ton CUCV pickup trucks. Never got past the noodling stage.

Latest trip to Big Bend area

Not a lot to report except that we have been trouble free with the sleeper/camper for 5 trips to Big Bend area at close to 1400 miles round trip, so about 7000 miles in two years. I have been concerned about the wheel bearings getting hot on the passenger side as its always 20 to 30 degrees hotter than the drivers side. I pulled the hubs and bearings and found the brake shoes to be heavily worn and going to have a brake shop turn the hubs and take the brake shoes and parts to O'Reillys to be matched up. They also were able to get the wheel bearings and seals.Also thinking about new shocks and possibly new leaf springs. I bought this military generator trailer in 2015 and estimated the year of manufacture 1999, so don't know how many miles it may have had before I got it.

few more pic's. We have a camp site we have been working on for a possible future cabin. Later this same day, a micro burst wind blew the shade tent down the side of the hill while we had gone to town and it was staked down. Apparently a common thing to happen with the winds out there.

I saw the brake pic and it looks like a GM setup from the pieces i saw. Just measure the drum for the right diameter.

that's my understanding that it's a Chevy/GMC 3/4 drum and brake. Shouldn't be too hard to matchup new shoes.

The trailer brake shoes are very thin new. I think they are dexter trailer brakes. On the last trailer I did I found the cheapest way is to buy complete backing plates
