M416 Build

Fits perfectly in the box which is sort of cool. I could really see how killer a chaser as a truck bed would be. The width also happens to be perfect for the toyota, it just squeezed between the wheel wells...

It would be really cool to build a Toyota with either a AT or remnants of a mil trailer as a truck bed some day in my opinion...

Misc trailer parts, I forgot to take a picture of the frame but this was blasted too of course...

Last two pics show some Cummins parts I also had blasted. Again just gorgeous... Almost a shame to have to paint!

Bed, surprizingly high amounts of pitting. Again no rot other than the covers for the drain plugs. These will probably be removed I figure...

More close up of the parts post blast, and also the fenders. Some rot under there. All those coats of military paint hid a lot unfortunately...

That's it for now... Here is the only pic I have including the frame. Probably the part they put the least time into but still got it nice and clean, there are some traces of the original primer from 1967 that you can see in the pic... I'm hoping to find some time tomorrow to start working on it if lucky...

Came to about $200 with sales tax so expensive, but again I got a lot blasted, not just the trailer. Here is are a couple pics I got from Damon before we got it blasted, in the back of the truck... Gives a good idea of the size of the trailer I think...

Technique for extending the tongue...

At first I was planning a 3x1 steel but I ended up with this 3x3 as scrap from a friend. It is thick at 1/4" and heavy. But it makes for a good strong box with lots of lateral support so no complaints.

And all burned in (last pic)...

Looking good, I really need to get down to Dino's next time I need some blasting!

Here is the frame flipped. Also shows the cross member in place, and the complete frame, in the upside down position. Nice and stout :) Tongue is now attached...

Andre, did you give any thought to building a single beam tongue in order to really maneuver it on tight trails? While its not a huge build factor it has been extremely handy for me on tight trails.
